COACHING PHILOSOPHY:  Throughout the course of the season, I want all of my athletes to not only learn the fundamentals of the sport, but to help each athlete set and achieve goals as individuals and as a team. Showing up prepared, hard work, and a positive competitive nature are critical components in preparing for the ups and downs this sport provides. I believe that volleyball is a sport that teaches teamwork, respect, and commitment for not only success on the court, but also leads to success in life.

• This will be my second season with SSVBC.
• I grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania, and attended high school in a suburb of Chicago.
• I received a Bachelors of Science in Microbiology from the University of Iowa.
• I currently work for the Washington State Department of Health as a Child Health Consultant.
• I played 5 years of club volleyball in the Midwest with Sky High Volleyball Club and Club Fusion. I played through my four years of high school and won the High School State title in 2008 with a 42-0 record. I continued playing in college on the University of Iowa Club Volleyball team for 3 years.
•  I have coached fundamental skills to 5th through 8th graders during summer camp over 3 years. Alongside playing, I coached the University of Iowa Club Volleyball team my junior and senior years of college. 

BEST MOMENT IN VOLLEYBALL:

          The best moment in volleyball for me was during my senior year of high school. We had been through several personal trials the prior summer and our last season in high school became very important to us as a team. We had achieved major accomplishments throughout our season, entering the State Championships 40-0. We had two games to win to be State Champs. Our first match flew by with success, moving us to the State Championship match against a worthy and previously very successful opponent. The last serve of the match was extremely sentimental and emotional. When the ball hit the ground, awarding us the final point to win, the flood of emotions celebrating with my team and school was something I don’t think any athlete could have ever expected. I will always remember those girls and how we pulled together to accomplish something so great.
