ATHLETE PHILOSOPHY: Always believe you can win and pull through even if you are down 0-24. If you've done something once, you can do it again. Each point you win is a celebration and each point you lose, you learn from. Believe in yourself and your teammates. Work as a whole unit not as individuals. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again and then try some more. Lastly, Coach Kristen (Borquist) taught me to give back to this sport which has given me so much—pay it forward.
AWARDS/ACCOLADES: I was the Varsity volleyball team captain at John Sedgwick Junior High in 8th grade and I made the Varsity volleyball team in 7th and 8th grade. I was a Varsity volleyball starter at South Kitsap High School this year, my freshman year. Record holder at John Sedgwick Junior High for discus 2 years in a row. District champ in girl’s discus 2 years in a row.
FAVORITE QUOTE: "Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon." -Paul Brandt
WHY I LOVE SSVBC: I love SSVBC because it's a very positive learning environment, there are fantastic coaches and I am always learning something new about volleyball and life.
BEST MOMENT IN VOLLEYBALL: My best moment in volleyball was recently when our team, South Kitsap HS, had an away match against Bellarmine. In that match, I had 7 kills (which was my season high at that time until I had 9 against Stadium at leagues). Our team came so close to winning but in the end we did not. To me this was my greatest moment in volleyball because Bellarmine held the 3 previous state championships and we could have beat them.
