Stephanie Gann
Coach
COACHING PHILOSOPHY: My coaching philosophy is guided by four basic principles: hard work, discipline, passion, and respect. I aim to not only teach players techniques and strategies of volleyball, but also to mold them into strong, value-driven individuals. The lessons learned from volleyball reach farther than body development and teamwork. My players will learn to be gracious losers and humble victors. I will teach them sportsmanship, hard work, and determination by leading by example.

BEST MOMENT IN VOLLEYBALL: It was the very last game of my senior season at Occidental College. I had become best friends with my fellow seniors over the years and we all played like we had nothing to lose. We were up against a team that was ranked 3rd in the conference (we were ranked 4th) and we had to win to make it to the conference tournament. We won two out of four sets by only a few points. Before the fifth set started, all the seniors gathered around to talk about what we needed to do to win. The mood was electric. We went into the fifth set and dominated Chapman to win the match. I have never been so proud of my team. We played out of our minds and had each other’s backs unlike every before. It was one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had in my life.
