COACHING PHILOSOPHY: This year as a coach, I want to help my girls gain a passion for this sport. I want them to leave each practice, and love volleyball more than they did before they walked in the door. I will do this by making each practice high paced and energetic. I also want to provide them with the tools and knowledge to help their overall play in their future years. I will also always be open to questions from my players and will do my best to help them through any challenges they might face. I will make sure that I am always approachable and that my girls feel comfortable asking me about

This is Coach Shaw’s 2nd year with SSVBC.
Avery is from Gig Harbor, Washington.
She Graduated from Gig Harbor High School and is currently playing for Evergreen State College.
Avery began playing for the Edge Volleyball Club in 2008 and finished up with South Sound VBC in 2014.
Avery was an Assistant Coach for the U13’s Black Team in 2013-2014.She worked primarily with setter development and helped train our setters to reach higher performance levels.
Coach Shaw’s setting expertise helped launch her U13’s team to an incredible 5th place finish at the Girl’s Junior National Championships in Minneapolis, MN.
BEST MOMENT IN VOLLEYBALL: My SSVBC U16’s team beat Club Wahine (a top 4 ranked team) in the championship match in a tournament held at Seattle Pacific University. It was one sweet victory!!!
