Director/Coach

COACHING PHILOSOPHY:   Success in any sport stems from the foundational skills and the perfection of technique.  I place great value on teaching perfect process.  This is more important than the product or outcome.  A flawless process will eventually make an extraordinary product.  Practice is everything and success will never come without hard work.  Volleyball and Life are similar in that good character, teamwork, dedication, commitment, respect, passion, and working harder than you have ever worked before, will make you successful on the court and a champion for life.  I believe it is the pursuit of the victory, the dream of achieving the goal, more than the goal itself is what makes sports and competition so enjoyable.

FAVORITE QUOTE:   SUCCESS IS A PIECE OF MIND THAT COMES FROM KNOWING THAT YOU HAVE DONE YOUR BEST.” –John Wooden

  • BEST MOMENT IN VOLLEYBALL:  In 2002 I taught an “After School Volleyball Class” to some of my 5th and 6th graders who had never before competed in an official volleyball match.  Knowing that these young girls could be successful in this sport, I convinced parents and the tournament director to let us participate in a Puget Sound Region sanctioned event.  This “DREAM TEAM” took 2nd in our pool, won the first and second round of bracket play and found themselves in the championship match.  We defeated Olympia VBC in 3 to win 1st Place in the Dominos U12 Gold Division.  In the fall of 2003 University Place Volleyball Club was born.
