COACHING PHILOSOPHY:   By the end of the season, all players should gain a better understanding of the different aspects of volleyball including but not limited to: the passion for the sport, physical fundamental skills, and the mentality of a team player.

In order to accomplish this objective, Lauren believes in the following principles:

  • Bring a positive attitude on and off the court

  • Place the team before yourself

  • Respect your coaches, teammates and parents

  • Everyone has a role on the team, so be supportive of your fellow teammates

  • Communication is key

  • Always put your best effort into everything you do

  • Be disciplined

  • Handle success like you handle failure

  • BEST MOMENT IN VOLLEYBALL: I think one of my most memorable moments in volleyball would have to be my first season playing club volleyball. Our team was the “B” team for 12 year olds; a developmental team nicknamed as the “Bad News Bears”. We made significant progress throughout the season and when it mattered at the Aloha Regionals, we ended up beating our rival club’s “A” team in the semis. It was a bittersweet moment; although we ended up losing the championship to our own “A” team, the semi final game was like the championship game for our team. Due to all our hard work and perseverance throughout the season we were able to see it pay off.
