Season Synopsis for U-16

SSVBC 16-Steph had an incredibly successful season. Although the team itself only consisted of seven players, that does not describe the amount of effort and success put into the season. They managed to continually move up in Power League standings to finish as the Silver Champions of Flight 2. The team really came into their own at their first big travel tournament in Denver. They overcame a multitude of obstacles and placed within the top 75. They also found themselves all the way to the semifinal match at the Evergreen tournament. Whether playing at large tournaments like Denver and Spokane or in small local tournaments like Power League or Regionals, this team stuck together constantly. Both on and off the court this team thrived and became closer. Friendships were formed amongst all, including coaches, whether through goofy moments off the court at team dinners and while traveling or through intensity and passion on the court. Coach Stephanie and Coach Erika could not be prouder of how far their girls have come: "It is rare to coach a group of girls that constantly want to improve both individually and as a team as badly as these girls and are willing to do anything together to succeed."

Assistant coach Erika Greene said about the weekend that "it is so great to see what we cover in practice on a daily basis come through in the girls' play at tournaments. There is a lot of improvement in their play and I am excited to see even more improvement to come." They play again this weekend on Sunday, February 5th.
